On Tuesday, I took a day off of work to head to the CWCCA (Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of America) National Show in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky to hang out with my mom and stepdad and watch them do their thing with their dogs. As much as I love dogs, I don't know where they find their energy- running from ring to ring, swapping dogs, keeping their event numbers straight, and navigating impossible agility courses that would make me dizzy with all the turns.

By some stroke of luck, I happened to find Dad O. in the hallway "warming up" with Red for rally obedience. This was nothing short of a miracle since there are lots of people and hundreds of corgi's everywhere.
Next he was in the ring with Panache.... I've only been here 20 minutes and I'm already getting tired just watching all the activity!
Meanwhile, in the ring across the room, Mom and Zipper were showing their stuff in the obedience ring. Zipper had a perfect run until he got to the broad jump. Being the agility champion he is, he didn't understand why he needed to go over the broad jump if Mom was just going to stand there. It's ok, Zipper- we love you anyway!
Good dogs get ribbons....
Next we were off to agility. It was a beautiful sunny day- so I was up for finding a chair to soak in some springtime sun and watch dogs and their people have some fun on the agility course!
Zipper needed a break in his favorite hiding place before his turn in the ring....
After a brief break- it was time for the standard course. Here's Zipper struting his stuff on the dog walk... he's a model... strutting his stuff on the dog walk... on the dog walk... (hee hee)
Next it was Dad and Red's turn to do their thing... Here's Red and Dad strutting their stuff on the dog walk too...
By the way, in between agility runs- outside and across the very large parking lot- they ran back a couple of times for some other events in the obedience rings. I, however, stayed put in my comfortable lawn chair. It was my job to let them know if they were going to be late for their next agility run.
It was great to see my parents! They had a great time and did well with their dogs, leaving with a car full of ribbons, 2 new crate mats, and a couple of dog toys.
I am happy to report that today I went back to work where I rested up after my eventful day of vacation!!
