This is not a blog entry I am happy to share...
Earlier this week, Emerald Ash Borer, a devasting exotic pest of Ash trees has been found in Georgetown, Indiana- right on the Harrison and Floyd County line (the find was in the Floyd County portion of the town, so it is Floyd County under the quarantine). It was discovered in one of the purple sticky traps that have been put out all over the midwest states.
I'm sure once this hits the news- the phone will be ringing off the hook and I will spend a lot of time looking at ash trees.
For more information on EAB, visit www.entm.purdue.edu/EAB and http://www.emeraldashborer.info/. Or you can visit Kelly's blog- those purple traps are her domain in IL! http://rkestes.blogspot.com/search/label/emerald%20ash%20borer
