Mom O. comes to visit!

My mom came to visit this weekend! It was her first visit since the wedding last year. She flew in late on Friday night. Usually her flight is one of the last to arrive, but Friday, the airport was hopping! Thankfully, her flight was on time- one of the few judging by the number of people waiting at the airport. Pepper was very glad to see Mom because she lets her do all the things we don't (see photo of Pepper on the sofa with Mom).

Saturday Mom and I headed out to go shopping. We decided to go to Kohl's first. Mom and I call Kohl's the "evil store". Regardless of what we tell ourselves when we go in- we always end up buying more than we should. We justify it by the awesome deals we get! Well...when we pulled into the parking lot, there were NO SPOTS to park. Turns out, Saturday was bonus days at Kohl's and EVERYONE in the New Albany was also there. We fought the crowds, found some cute clothes- and patiently waited in line to check out. Then we headed to Olive Garden for our traditional Mom Daughter shopping lunch of soup and salad. Our next stop- Bass Pro Shops. Yep- that's right- Bass Pro! They have some really cute clothes! Our good luck continued because when we got to Bass Pro- not only was it raining- but there was a boat show that took up about half the parking lot- and the other half was filled with cars. So- I dropped Mom off at the door (aren't I nice?!) and drove to Texas to park the car. We had a good time - and found some fun spring and summer clothes that will come in handy for the family cruise we have later this summer. By then, we decided we'd had enough shopping!!

Sunday, we drove into Louisville for the dog show. This was the first year in about 5 years Mom was only a spectator. Usually she's running between the show rings and agility. We had a great time! We got there in time to watch the Pembroke Corgi's (I was not willing to get up early enough so we could watch the Cardigans- I do not get up earlier on the weekend than I would during the week). We watched several breeds show we don't normally see and even stayed for the Group competitions. I don't think I've ever watched the groups at a show before - other than on tv!

Mom and I had a great weekend- and as always, I was sad to see her leave! The good news is my folks will be back in April on their way to the Cardigan Nationals in Kentucky!
