March Snow

Well, for once, the weatherman was right (darn the luck)! It started snowing Friday morning and snowed until Saturday morning... with a total of about 8 inches. Due to the snow covered roads, we stayed home.

Pepper enjoyed playing in the snow and doing her zoomies through the snow drifts... and although I usually like snow, the late winter storm put me in a seriously bad mood! Last weekend's 60 degree weather had me in the mood for spring- not winter snow storms! No worries- I'm back to normal today.

To keep me entertained (and coax me out of my bad mood), Nick agreed to play a game of Illiniopoly - a gift from my little brother, Dan, when I was in college (just like regular monopoly, but instead, features Champaign-Urbana properties). I thought I was doing well. I had started to build houses on my row of Papa Del's, Kam's, and C.O. Daniels... It appeared that Nick's cash was dwindling. Then he says "I'd like to buy 3 houses." "With what?" I asked, looking at his lackluster monies on the table (in total about $50). Then he pulls a $500 bill from under the table! He was stashing cash under the table! Not exactly cheating...but sneaky for sure! That's when things began to go downhill. I lasted for about another 45 minutes, but ultimately went bankrupt when he owned half of the board and built a bunch of houses and hotels. It's hard to win when you have to pay $1150 in rent every trip around the board. But it did succeed in breaking my bad case of the winter blues. I'm already plotting my revenge... :)
