The view down our street.Well...it was probably just a matter of time... All winter long I have sat back and felt bad for my family and friends in Illinois as I heard their stories of 10 inches of snow one day, 5 inches the next, temperatures far below zero and other winter horror stories. And now...now it is their turn to sit back and hear about our wonderful winter weather on the news. I think I would prefer the snow, actually, because what we have is a nice coating of ice...followed by some snow...with more ice on top of that...with a few more hours of ice forecasted and then a few inches of snow on top of that. Super fun. I'm not really complaining though, because all this fantastic weather is the reason that I had a snow day...or in this case...ice day home from work.
Spencer County folk are tough though...Nick had to go to work...but thankfully, they did close the courthouse early this afternoon. I was glad they decided to agree that ice is not nice.
Held's Birdie Cafe is closed due to ice.
The coating of ice on the tree is actually kind of pretty.
It's much prettier to look at the ice than to drive in it.
I do believe I will go enjoy a chocolate chip cookie now.

I'm jealous...I need to get a job off campus so I can get a snow day once in awhile! Love the birdfeeder photo!
