Saturday Night Hot Dog Roast

Saturday night, we went over to the Putler's for an evening of fall fun. Becky, Michelle, and I have been attending book club together for awhile and recently, I've joined them at the Y for some cycling classes. After the yummy foods consumed Saturday evening, I will certainly need to attend both cycling sessions this week...
Anyways- we had a great time, Rachel included. Becky and Phillip have 2 boys, Jack (4) and Luke (3). This meant that there were MANY, MANY toys to play with- and Rachel was up for the task of playing with them all. The first thing she spotted when we got out of the car was the play set. Becky was kind enough to get out a smaller slide for Rachel, but as soon as Rachel saw the boys go down the slides on the big kid set, the small slide was forgotten and she was determined to play on the big equipment. This meant that I got to play on it too. I have to say, she was right! That slide was a lot of fun!

After the playground, we headed over to the fire and enjoyed hot dogs, pasta salad, deviled eggs, hashbrown casserole, chips-n-dip, veggies, cookies and more for dinner. Becky had quite the spread! Rachel was too facinated with the boys to eat much- although she did try to steal some of the food off their plates, despite the fact that hers had the same fare. What I didn't get a picture of that I wish I would have is Rachel giving Luke hugs and kisses. It was HILARIOUS. And poor Luke, who did NOT ask for her affections, was quite taken aback by her forwardness. Throw in the fact that she kept trying to steal their new chairs, and it was more than he could take. Later, she moved onto Jack, who was willing to return the hugs. I guess we should have had the discussion about playing hard to get before our evening out! Thanks Becky, Phillip, Jack, and Luke! The food was wonderful and the company was fantastic!
