Overdue Update

Rich family photo after the game.
Last week was pretty quiet around here. We didn't have too many blog worthy events. I guess that was so I could rest up for the insanity that was this past weekend! As soon as tickets went on sale, Debbie was working on planning the Rich Illini Football weekend. I've been looking forward to some Rich Family bonding in our orange and blue. Saturday morning, I was up, dressed, and out the door long before the sun made it's debut. After walking across campus with a dozen cupcakes (I'm way too cheap to pay $20 to park my car), I met up with my family and we watched one of THE most exciting Illini football games that I can remember. We certainly got our money's worth, right down to the last play! And we came home with a win!! Os-kee-wow-wow!
Chief Illiniwek made an appearance for homecoming.
The drive home after the game seemed to be much longer than the drive up.

Sunday, I spoke at both Trinity and St. Peter's to  share my experiences with the PICS trip to Nigeria. I'm not sure why it took two years, but I was happy to have the opportunity to share the experience. Maybe someone else will be willing to go outside their comfort zone and travel somewhere they never thought they'd go. Nigeria wasn't on my list of places to see... but that was a trip I will never forget.

Sunday evening, Nick cooked supper and Nancy and Melvin came over to celebrate Melvin's birthday. If I'd been on top of things, I'd have
gotten Melvin's picture with the very yummy angel food cake Nancy made, but at that point, we're lucky I wasn't snoring on top of my plate of food.

It was a wonderful, activity packed weekend. But I'm glad I don't have anything to do THIS weekend!
