Last week, we took a break from work and headed to Corydon to see some friends. First, we had our girls lunch with Auntie Nikki. Rachel has taken an interest in grown-up food lately and although she has no teeth, watches each and every bite from fork to mouth. She has a way of making those around her feel incredibly guilty for not sharing. Once you get some teeth, Sweet Pea, Mommy will share her soup in the bread bowl.

It'd been several months since we'd dropped in on the Casada's. I called to see if they'd be home, and as luck would have it, it was the annual Christmas cookie decorating day! It's a process and the faint of heart need not apply! It's actually quite fun- multiple frosting colors, sprinkles and decorations galore. And the best part- there are usually a few extras that make their way onto a take-home plate!
Glen is on the clean-up crew, so he and Rachel hung out while the decorating was going on. Glen has a big screen tv on the wall- Rachel was immediately impressed.

Sharon cuts out the dough and bakes the cookies. She takes requests...but beware- you will get what you ask for- so if requested, be ready to decorate all the little santa's and snowmen!

The Decorating Crew...

The end product. Just so you know- it's quite addicting!
While we were having our cookie decorating fun, I'd mentioned my intention to take Rachel to Kohl's the next day for some Christmas shopping before the freezing rain rolled in. While it was not my intention to score a babysitter, Amber offered to watch Rachel if I wanted to run uptown to Kohl's so I didn't have to do it the next day. I'm no fool. I ran down the instructions on bottles and gave her the stash of diapers practically ran out the door! This is I have learned in the last few months- shopping is much faster and easier without Rachel in tow. She's always good, but it's just easier without her help.
Rachel enjoyed her time with the Casada's and they must have enjoyed her too, they offered to watch her again!! I'm sure we'll be back - maybe next time the weather will be a bit warmer and Rachel can meet the goats and puppies!
We had a great time in Corydon and can't wait to go back and have more fun with our friends there!!
