What's left of Hurricane Ike ripped through Santa Claus today with several hours of strong winds- some that reached over 60+ mph. We were fortunate, all it did was blow the grill over. Melvin and Nancy (Nick's parents) were not so lucky. They had several branches down, and a couple of trees, one of which knocked over the transformer pole in their yard and left them without power. Melvin fired up the generator so they'd be able to keep the fridge going. Hopefully, the power will be restored to Candy Castle Road soon!
