Or maybe it was a hankering for something sweet...
But I felt the urge to make pie tonight. So I did. I might have cheated a little bit and used the Pillsbury Crust. Let's be real people... I worked 8 hours and drove an hour to get home from work. Pie crust from scratch wasn't going to happen!
Here's my pie...all ready for the oven... I even cut a heart in the top. It's cute, if I do say so myself.
Into the oven it went.... where it spent the next 40 minutes making my house smell like a Yankee candle- only better because it was the real thing.
All done!! Ok, ok... so my crust technique needs a little refining. Half of it flopped over the side, and the other side wasn't sealed so the goo oozed out. What can I say- I'm a cake and cookie girl- not a pastry chef. Somehow I don't think Nick will mind if I decide to practice by making more pies. It may not look pretty, but I'll bet it tastes good. Add some vanilla ice cream... mmmm... yummy! My mouth is watering!
Oh, yeah... any volunteers to clean the peach goo off the bottom of my oven?
Anyone??? Anyone???
