Balloons- the New Dog Torture Device

Yesterday, the Planning and Zoning office in Harrison County gave me a going-away basket with balloons tied to the top. Last night, we discovered that Pepper does not like balloons.

This morning, as I was drinking coffee and checking email, Nick was starting to cook breakfast and I heard Pepper cry. Pepper never misses out on "helping" cook breakfast. She takes her job as the kitchen floor monitor very seriously.

Me: Nick, why is Pepper crying?

Nick: (pause) evil laugh

Me: Are you being mean to my dog?

Nick: another evil laugh.

So, I get up to go see what he's done to her this time... and here she sat...

The bedroom door was open just enough for her to see out... and in her path were two balloons. That silly dog wouldn't go near the balloons. And all she knew was she was missing out on breakfast preparations. Poor Pepper...so of course I had to run and get my camera. Then I rescued her. But only after taking a picture to put on my blog.

The thing of it is... even though he picks on her and traps her in the bedroom with balloons.... she still loves him the best. That's gratitude for you!
