Blast From the Past

Saturday, I headed over to the house to continue the sorting process. I figure even if the contractor isn't making much progress, doesn't mean we can't. Nancy came over too - the more the merrier. In the back of the bedroom closet, we found decorating guides circa 1950's. I do believe they will come in handy as we remodel.

We found some paint sample cards too. I wonder if I went in to the paint store with these, if they would still have these colors. They say that things like this come back in style...
I also loved how the women in the pictures were wearing skirts and heels to paint!

Continuing on with our blast from the past series....
I love this stove. I wish there was a way to get it refurbished so that this could be my stove. The only places we've found that do it are out in California. I can only imagine how expensive it would be to ship it out to California, have it fixed, and ship it back....but I'm guessing it's going to make my Electrolux Double Wall Oven look like a bargain. If given the choice though, I'd rather have the old stove fixed. (Pepper protects the stove no matter where she goes).
One of my other favorite things in the house...the sewing machine. It still works and was the machine that Nick's grandma used to sew. I think Nancy is going to take it, since she knows how to use it.

There are many more treasures... and you can bet, there is more to come later!
