Over a couple Rivers, Through the Mountains, to Granny's House We Go!

2012 was a GREAT Thanksgiving!! The turkey was moist, the stuffing was divine, and we just  had fun! We arrived at Granny's on Wednesday afternoon. Rachel was delighted to see her Grandpa Dave. They are really good pals. Grandpa Dave tried to help Rachel learn how to pedal her tricycle by pulling her with a rope. It sort of worked, but there was more pulling than pedaling. They still had fun though!
Rachel LOVED Granny's selection of shoes. Her enjoyment took me back to one of my favorite past-times at Granny and Grandpa's house. I had a favorite outfit I wore EVERY visit. It was fun to see Rachel enjoy the goodies in Granny's closet too!

Friday, we opened Christmas gifts (Rachel adores her new horse barn complete with three new horses) and then Granny and Grandpa gave Nick and I the best gift of all- an afternoon at the movies! We wanted to see the new Lincoln movie. It's really good. Two thumbs up from the Held House! Granny and Grandpa enjoyed their time with Rachel- so it was a great afternoon for everyone.

As visits always seem to be, this one was too short. Saturday morning we packed up for the drive back to Indiana. Before we hit the road, we stopped at the local firehouse for some pancakes and sausage. Rachel was feeling too shy to ride on the firetruck, but was willing to pose for a picture with her Greats.

Thank you for a wonderful Thanksgiving, Granny and Grandpa! Happy times and happy memories!
