My! What Sharp Teeth You Have!

Tuesday, Mom and I thought we'd head to the mall to enjoy the A/C and give Rachel a chance to run around and have some fun out and about. The best made plans....
First, Mom realized she forgot her medicine. Since she'd missed the previous days dose, we quickly made a few phone calls and got her a new prescription called into the local pharmacy. By this time, Rachel was taking her morning snooze. When she got up, we started to pack up to head out. The jogging stroller was in the car, and while it's wonderful for outdoor activities like the fair, the zoo, a walk in the park... it is NOT ideal for maneuvering in small spaces like the mall. I got her blue stroller, loaded it in the back, and took the jogging stroller to the deck for storage until we returned home. I did not see Boots taking her morning snooze under the patio furniture. She did not hear/see me coming. I must have stepped on her and in her slumber, scared her half to death because the next thing I know, she was yowling, I felt a sharp pain in my foot (which caused me to yowl) and I had blood dripping down my foot. Since cat bites are notorious for getting infected, we called Dr. Jeannie and made an appointment.
So, instead of enjoying an afternoon of window shopping at the mall, Rachel provided in-house entertainment in the waiting room at Dr. Jeannie's office. I think she was relieved that she wasn't the one Dr. Jeannie wanted to see! A second trip to the pharmacy was made that day and I went home to ice my foot. Let me just tell you, while the bite didn't look too bad, it hurt like the dickens!
Later that day, I noticed that Boots wasn't eating her foot. Her nose was swollen. We noticed it on Sunday and thought she gotten stung. Since it wasn't improving, she wasn't eating, and she was not acting like herself (she doesn't usually BITE), I took her to the vet yesterday morning. She has an abscess on her nose. She probably got into it with the orange barn cat that she loathes...
We are both enjoying our antibiotic.
Nick has filed this into the "Predicaments That Adrienne Gets Into" along with falling on my face twice in two weeks (ankle) and several others.
What can I say? It takes talent!
