BIG GIRL!!

Rachel has been checking the big girl milestones off her list. And this weekend, we added a couple more... some were more successful than others.
Editors note: I do not always let my little girl run around the house in her undies/diaper, but it was hot and she removed her clothing. Since we were inside our own house, I decided it was not a battle worth fighting. In public or outside, I do require appropriate clothing.

The big girl undies lasted just long enough to snap the picture. Then she told me "off" and stripped down to her birthday suit. We do have a "pants required" rule in the house- so we put a diaper back on.
Any advice on how to get her to keep big girl undies on is welcome.

Sunday we put together the big girl bed that Grandpa Dave and Granny brought in February. This was the best development EVER in Rachel's world. The first thing she did was invite Pepper to join her. "Mon!" as she patted the bed. I snapped the picture, then explained that Pepper has her own bed, and so does Rachel. I doubt that's the last time Rachel will invite her best four-legged friend up for a nap with her.

Rachel also successfully drank from a big girl cup on Sunday. She was even willing to drink some MILK last night.

These are all very exciting developments. I'm proud of Rachel for sleeping in her bed last night. It went a lot better than I thought it would. (I'll try to snap a picture at naptime- I didn't want to risk a flash waking her up!) She really seems to be into being a big girl- so maybe the transition to big girl undies isn't much farther off.
