Fall harvest sunset and a pair of muddy Nike's

Today I got home a little early from work...and I decided it would be a sin to let such a beautiful evening pass when I'm home early enough to go for a walk before it was dark. Pepper agreed and off we went. On the way home, I happened to look out across the corn field behind our house and there was a beautiful sunset in the trees with the empty field as a backdrop. I thought "Ooohhh that'd make a pretty picture" and headed off to find my camera.

In order to get the best angle on the picture, it required me to cross the ditch. (Don't I sound like I know what I'm doing when I talked about the angle of the picture? I don't really have a clue about anything related to photography). The ditch looked solid- so out I stepped - up to my ankles in mud.
(Granny, yes those are the shoes you bought me. Yay for washing machines!)

Footprints in the mud.

At this point I'm committed...and decided to go ahead and snap a few more while I was at it

Even with the mud, I do love living in the country!
